• About the role

  • Circa £50,000 (depending on experience) plus 34 days leave + Health Cash Plan

Home, a place where you belong
If you are someone who sets the standards, this role is for you.  As our senior technical surveying expert, you’ll lead a team of Maintenance Surveyors or manage contractors (depending on your region), to drive quality across repairs and maintenance. From safety and compliance to getting it right first time, you will directly shape the homes and services we provide.

Whether you’re supporting your team to deliver excellence in Surveying services, managing contractor performance, or spotting the small details others may miss.  Together, you ensure our customers' homes are safe and compliant, enabling us to deliver on our Customer Promise.

    What you’ll do
Be our technical expert and lead on complex repairs, damp and mould, disrepair, adaptations and HHSRS within statutory timeframes
Lead and develop a team of Maintenance Surveyors, to deliver high-quality surveying services, being the escalation point to enable us to deliver compliant repairs, right first time
Set clear standards for our in-house DLO teams or contractors through inspections, specifications and quality assurance checks. You’ll manage performance, resolve issues fairly and firmly when needed
Support customers by solving challenges and improving property standards
Keep control of budgets and priorities to deliver value for money and great outcomes

    Why join us
You’ll enjoy real flexibility, work alongside a supportive team, and have the space to grow your own technical skills while leading others.  Be part of one of the UK’s Great Places to Work! Unfortunately, we can’t offer a CoS for this role.

    You have
Experience of managing surveying teams or leading surveying services in a construction environment, ideally within the housing maintenance sector.
MRICS and an accredited Building Surveying degree (or equivalent qualification).  A relevant Health and Safety qualification and strong experience built up through your working profession
PCAQT and HHSRS qualification, or willingness to complete it after joining us.
Expertise in Damp and Mould, Building and Planning regulations, Decent Homes Standard, Landlord and Tenant Act and Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act.
Current knowledge of relevant housing and building legislation, statutory compliance and experience of Construction Design Management (CDM) client and design side.
    Stronger together
We do our best work when we’re ourselves. That’s why inclusion, wellbeing, and our diversity networks help make Home Group a great place to work!

    The practical bits
    You’ll work Monday to Friday.
This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days in the office and the rest working across your patch and from home
You need to be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle insured for business purposes.  We’ll pay for your business mileage
You need a Basic DBS check done, and we also pay for that

    What’s in it for you?
34 days leave, (this includes bank holidays and a “me day”).
Health cash plan saving you (and your children) £1140+ each year covering dental, opticians, prescriptions and more
Matching pension contribution (up to 7% and life insurance of 3x basic salary)
800+ discounts on shops, holidays, days out, tech and more
